Saudi Arabia’s ‘Mawhiba’ participates in 2019 International Biology Olympiad

Saudi Arabia, represented by King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and Ministry of Education, will participate as an observer in 2019 International Biology Olympiad (IBO), to be held in the Republic of Hungary from July 14 to 21, 2019.

Mawhiba is preparing for the participation of a team of students in the competition next year 2020 to be hosted by Japan.

Saudi participating observers consist of Dr. Fatima Al-Hamlan the head of the delegation, and Bader Al-Magrazi and Yousef Al-Shahrani. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is required to send a representative to the IBO Competition as an observer for at least one year, before Saudi students participate as competitors.

Mawhiba has already begun preparing for IBO through a talent discovery competition.

The chosen team of students has begun attending international competitions in collaboration with Mawhiba and the Ministry of Education, hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu.
