G20 Foreign Ministers: WTO Reforms Urgent Amid US-China Trade Crisis

Foreign ministers of the G20 agreed that it is urgent to reform the World Trade Organization (WTO) amid a growing US-China tariff crisis, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said.

Motegi said that the G20 shares the view that the WTO should be reformed to address many of the current issues.

At the meeting, the foreign ministers discussed WTO reforms, pushing for the Geneva-based WTO to improve its dispute settlement system, a point made in a declaration by the G20 leaders after their meeting in Osaka, Japan, last June.
